The Thanksgiving holiday is upon us, and if you’re still fretting over what you’re going to serve for your holiday feast — or if you’re wondering what to do with all that leftover turkey in the days ahead — we’d like to suggest these flashback favorite recipes from the 1980 McAfee & Taft cookbook, Incredible Edibles, Inc.:
- Raw Cranberry Salad, courtesy of Mrs. Hanna
- Green Bean Casserole, courtesy of Toni Porter
- Sweet Potatoes and Cranberries, courtesy of Jean Ann Robison
- Pumpkin Bars, courtesy of LaDonna Carder and Nell McDowell
- Pumpkin Roll, courtesy of Elaine Burget
- Golden Turkey Stroganoff, courtesy of Janelle Jacobs
- Souper Turkey Crunch, courtesy of Lorene Buettner
Most of the copies of the 1980 cookbook that are still around are well-worn from years of repeated use. Fortunately, long-time accounting employee Sharon Selby recently was able to locate the original paste-up of the cookbook, and copy center manager Jeremiah Parris painstakingly scanned and edited each and every page to create a digital version of the book.
Enjoy!
